Founded in 2002, Candle Wishes is a Christian faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee that fulfills birthday wishes and provides essential needs for underprivileged children in Tennessee, with programs in Rutherford County, Memphis, and Franklin. Since its inception, Candle Wishes has given thousands of needy children memorable birthday experiences.

Participating children (ages 1-12) are found through the Salvation Army’s approved list of Angel Tree families and recommendations from school guidance counselors, social workers, and other philanthropic organizations.

While it is our desire to fulfill the birthday wishes of participating children, we want to first make sure some of their basic needs such as clothing and shoes are met. In order to do this, Candle Wishes finds individuals to sponsor children and supply their birthday wishes and needs.

Community groups such as churches, businesses, civic clubs, school groups, etc. host monthly birthday parties for the Candle Wishes children and their families. Birthday children receive their gift bags at the parties where everyone enjoys food, cake and games.

Candle Wishes allows you, the donor or volunteer, to be involved in hands on ministry and express a giving and compassionate spirit throughout the year, beyond the holidays when helping those in need is most prevalent.

More than birthday gifts and parties, Candle Wishes is about loving people just as Christ loves us.
